Cheer UP Summer Camp

Summer Camp is the perfect opportunity for any All Star Cheerleader or anyone interested in exploring the world of All Star Cheerleading to be able to spend some time in the gym without the pressures that can often come along with regular cheer practice.

Summer Camp at an All Star Cheer Gym not only allows the camp attendees to participate in activities that are in-line with what you would typically expect – Tumbling, Stunting, Stretching, etc., but it also offers the opportunity to participate in such things such as Craft Making and Team Bonding Activities.

There are certainly a variety of ways that different All Star Cheer Gyms may structure their Summer Camp program.

At Cheer UP Athletics for example, Summer Camp is a 1-week session Camp held at two different times during the Summer (this year being: July 15, 2024 – July 19, 2024, & August 12, 2024 – August 16, 2024).

The Camp takes place at the Cheer UP facilities and is a SUPER fun way to spend time during the Summer.

Camp sessions are Half-Day (8 am-12pm) events and there are both ‘Day’ & ‘Week’ rates available (if interested in learning more about registering for Summer Camp @ Cheer UP, please reach out to the Cheer UP Office to walk through the details involved – 401-215-7022).

Although varying programs may obviously run their Summer Camps differently, the goals are essentially the same – to offer families an alternative to traditional Summer Camps in a safe environment related to a sport that they are already in love with, are simply curious about learning more about, or anywhere in between!

Summer Camp at an All Star Cheer Gym can be a fantastic experience for cheerleaders of ALL Levels.

All Star Cheer Summer Camps are typically staffed by experienced Cheer Coaches and Competitive Athletes.

One of the best things for a Cheer Athlete attending Summer Camp at an All Star Cheer Gym is access to their facilities and their specialized equipment such as spring floors, tumble tracks, rod floors, and various other specialized pieces of equipment that are all aimed at providing a safe and effective training environment.

The benefits of attending Summer Camp in an All Star Cheer environment are wide ranging.

Although done with a fun approach, athletes attending Summer Camp are certain to realize improved skills.

With the focus on the various training elements, athletes often improve their techniques much more quickly than simply attending their regular cheer practices alone.

Attending Summer Camp often also is known to help build confidence in the attending athletes as these new skills are learned in an environment with a lot less stress that they may normally be used to working through during their traditional practices.

Summer Camps provide a social environment where athletes can make new friends and enjoy themselves in a supportive community.

For the most competitive of athletes, Summer Camp offers a competitive edge by providing advanced training and exposure to new techniques.

In terms of ‘What to wear?’, cheer attire is just fine. Comfortable, athletic clothing appropriate for cheer practice.

Shoes should be proper cheer shoes designed for tumbling and stunting.

A water bottle should be brought in as staying hydrated is crucial, especially during physical activities.

Depending on the Camp, participants may be asked to bring their own snacks (or lunch for those Camps that are all day events) for when they are given ‘snack time’.

Personal items such as a small towel, hair ties, and any personal cheer equipment (an ankle brace for those athletes needing an ankle brace as an example) may be helpful to bring along as well.

Participating in a Summer Camp at an All Star Cheer Gym can be a highly rewarding experience, providing both personal and athletic development in a fun, energetic environment with the added bonus of being able to make new friends (who also have a shared interest in cheer!) that they may not have met otherwise!
